UK-GBC Birmingham roundtable

UK-GBC will be hosting a roundtable for members in the Birmingham area. The discussion topic will be embodied carbon, following the UK-GBC’s recent launch of the guidance Embodied Carbon: developing a client brief.

The guidance explains:

some of the basics of embodied carbon;

  • gives an overview of some suggested approaches;
  • provides example clauses to propel embodied carbon requirements down the supply chain; and
  • gives practical tips on how to use the outcomes of an assessment.

The guidance is appropriate for any capital investment intervention in the built environment such as new build, refurbishment or renewal whether in buildings, infrastructure or other built assets.

Part 1 of the roundtable will about the guidance for developing client briefs, and Part 2 will be a facilitated discussion on how to take forward this topic that is rising up the agenda for the industry.

To register for this event, please email Natalia.Ford@ukgbc.org who will be chairing the discussion.

With thanks to the project partners BRE, Carillion, Derwent London, Walsh, additional funding from Green Construction Board/Construction Leadership Council as well as the roundtable hosts Linkcity.
