As part of our ongoing programme of work on sustainable cities, for the last few years UK-GBC has run a series of high profile city conferences across the country. These 'city summits' have brought together our national network of industry expertise with our public sector colleagues. The goal of the summits has always been to produce some tangible output for our networks, both private and public sector, to take forward and develop.
Sustainable Cities Leadership Summit: Leeds 2017
Following the success of our previous events in Manchester and Birmingham, and in keeping with a desire to build on our public/private sector engagement, in 2017 we held a special event bringing together leaders from both sectors. Read more.
The two-day conference, immersed delegates in the big sustainability issues facing cities through inspiring presentations and lively panel sessions, and delivered in depth learning grounded in real life scenarios via facilitated workshops, collaborative group work and site visits to development opportunities. Developed in partnership with Birmingham City Council, the goal was to help shape a lasting impact on the sustainability of Birmingham’s built environment, but the Summit was relevant for all those with a passion for sustainable cities and the outputs will be of value beyond Birmingham. Taking place on 21 - 22 January 2015, the 'conference' showcased the city’s built environment vision and aspirations; and provided the city with a unique opportunity to get input into its strategy and specific development opportunities. Read more.
