Level 2: Understanding
Level 2 is for learners who have a basic awareness of sustainability, and want to learn more about how to develop this knowledge, and then apply their learning to projects.
Level 2 offers a series of half-day courses which provide practitioners with a comprehensive understanding of sustainability across the entire building lifecycle. These courses explain how sustainability can increase the value of projects, benefitting the whole supply chain and the end user. They can be taken as a whole series to increase understanding across the whole building lifecycle or individually to increase understanding of a specific stage of the cycle.
Learners will hear from expert speakers from industry and academia who will share new ideas and lessons learned, and help them to gain an understanding of how to apply sustainable solutions across each stage of the building lifecycle. Learners receive an online quiz and learning summary after each course summarising the key learning points and providing a comprehensive resource list for referencing and further learning.
The courses provide a walk through of sustainability through investment, planning, design, construction and operations stages – taking an integrated, synergistic approach to sustainability learning.
The four half-day courses are as follows:
- Smart investments: Funding, valuing and acquiring green buildings (L201) 2 February 2017
- Integrated Planning: Creating sustainable communities (L202) 30 November 2016
- Sustainable Design and Construction: Inspiring integration and design innovation and driving sustainable construction (L203) 2 March 2017
- Operating Efficient Buildings: (L205) Optimising operational performance 29 March 2017
