Paul King, Managing Director of Sustainability at Lendlease Europe, has been recognised for his outstanding contribution to the global sustainability movement with a World Green Building Council Chairman's Award.
Paul, who was UK-GBC’s Chief Executive from 2007 until January this year, was honoured for his vision and leadership in advancing sustainability and raising awareness of the challenges the world faces.
The award was presented by WorldGBC Chairman Bruce Kerswill and CEO Terri Wills at the WorldGBC Congress in Hong Kong today.
Paul was praised for his leadership at UK-GBC and for his defence of the zero carbon homes policy over the course of successive governments.
Terri Wills said: “Under Paul’s leadership UK-GBC grew to become an influential voice in the UK sustainability debate and stood up for green interests in the political arena.
“Never one to rest on his laurels, in his current role as Managing Director of Sustainability at Lend Lease Europe, Paul works to create and regenerate some of the best places in cities around the region, in addition to chairing the Better Places for People initiative, striving for habitats that benefit health and happiness as well as the planet.”
