Rising Star Award 2017 shortlist announced
The Rising Star award, now in its 5th year, recognises an individual’s success in highlighting the importance of sustainability in the built environment and driving lasting change in their organisation or the wider sector.
PRP and UK-GBC launched the award in memory of Mel Starrs, a prominent built environment practitioner and PRP employee who sadly passed away in July 2012.
This year saw over 90 nominations from across the industry, and the judges had a tough job to shortlist just six from so many outstanding candidates.
Congratulations to our six shortlisted finalists:
- Clara Bagenal George, Elementa Consulting
- Dave Carlos, JLL
- Edward Dale-Harris, SAWA (Socially Active Workshop Architecture)
- Dr Phil Hampshire, BuroHappold Engineering
- Ben Hopkins, Bennetts Associates
- Evan Landy, UCL
Andrew Mellor, Partner, PRP said:“We are thrilled to see the Rising Star Award in its fifth year with the largest number of nominations to date. It is always great to see the nominees entries and we are excited to showcase the stars of the industry at Ecobuild 2017.”
Thanks to our 2017 judges: Claire Battles, Balfour Beatty; Su Butcher, Just Practising; Lindsey Malcolm, XCO2; Andrew Mellor, PRP; Lisa Pasquale, Six Cylinder (2016 winner) and Joseph Williams, UK-GBC, who had a tough job on their hands with the number and quality of the nominations this year.
Thanks also to everyone who nominated a colleague or peer for the award and congratulations to all of the nominees for shining a light on the sustainability agenda and being recognised for their work.
The winner will be announced by Andrew Mellor and Su Butcher during a drinks reception on our stand (C145) at Ecobuild on Wednesday 8 March. We hope many of you can join us in celebrating everyone nominated for this very special Award. RSVP here.
