Rising Star Award open for nominations
Nominations are now open for the Rising Star Award 2016. This is a fantastic opportunity to recognise a colleague or peer's sustainability agenda and shine a light on their achievements.
The Rising Star Award was launched in 2012 by UK-GBC and PRP in memory of Mel Starrs, an expert in sustainability who believed passionately in creating a better built environment. In its 4th year, the award celebrates an outstanding innovator in the building industry who has acted as a catalyst for change in relation to sustainability and environmental performance.
The judges will be looking for nominations of passionate individuals who have devised innovative ways of sharing knowledge, communicating and promoting ideas, engaging with others, changing working methods, challenging policy, promoting or improving performance in relation to sustainability. Candidates from all disciplines and sectors operating in the built environment are welcome.
With a new judging line up for 2016, the Award promise to be bigger than ever. Judges for 2016 are: Su Butcher, Just Practising; Natalia Ford, UK-GBC; Alastair Mant, Bilfinger GVA; Andrew Mellor, PRP; Sofie Pelsmakers, University of Sheffield and author of The Environmental Design Pocketbook and Olivia Preston, UK-GBC (formerly BBC, winner of the 2015 award).
Andrew Mellor, Partner, PRP said: ‘We had a large number of high quality nominations last year for nominees from a wide range of sectors and disciplines in the industry, we hope to surpass that this year with a greater number of nominations. I encourage you to nominate a rising star to make the 2016 a huge success!’
