Background
- Governments have shown some willingness to act on climate change, and there is now at least a global acceptance that we have to act.
- However, many were very disappointed by our politicians’ lack of progress at COP15, and the lack of firm targets. It seems that politicians are failing to grasp the urgency of the situation, and allowing politics to get in the way of action.
- Given that politicians are often restricted in what they can do, how much can we rely on them to tackle global emissions – particularly in countries where there is strong opposition to action?
- What can the global construction and property industry do to take the lead on addressing climate change? To what extent is government intervention required or even desirable?
- What is the World GBC network already doing? What more can and should we be doing?
The event takes place at 08:00 in the Arena at Ecobuild, Earls Court on Thursday 4th March. Breakfast refreshment will be available from 08:00 - 08:30. The event will begin at 08:30.
