BREEAM Consultation Workshop

Location: Arup, 13 Fitzroy St, London, W1T 4BQ
Type: Member Event
Event Date/Time: 11 June 2010, 08:30 to 11:00

BRE has signalled to industry that it is keen to receive feedback and input into revisions planned for a new version of BREEAM for 2011. A significant part of the update is focused on addressing revision to Part L, but we would like to invite UK-GBC members to offer their thoughts on how BREEAM could be further developed in the future, to better meet their needs and the demands of a rapidly changing environment.

The event will be designed and run by UK-GBC with input from members, and BRE have been invited to participate and present their priorities for BREEAM development.

This is an opportunity to engage in an interactive discussion about the future direction of BREEAM, the UK’s leading environmental assessment tool for buildings. Members will be asked to provide feedback that will be collated by UK-GBC and fed back to BRE.

BREEAM Consultation Workshop
Date: Friday 11th June 2010
Time: 08:30 for a 09:00 start - 11:00
Venue: ARUP, 13 Fitzroy Street, London, W1T 4BQ
Map: click here

At the event, attendees will be asked for their input not only to help inform the BREEAM 2011 update, but also address a number of strategic issues on the future of BREEAM beyond the BRE Global online survey (www.breeam.org/survey - open for comment until 31 May 2010).

The UK-GBC team will be joined by David Clark, Partner at Cundall, and together we will guide attendees through a series of questions. There will be time for a short debate on each issue, before a question is put to the audience using electronic voting equipment. There will also be an opportunity for attendees to submit additional written comments, which will be collated into a final report summarising the workshop.

For those who are unable to attend, and we realise the timing is not ideal for those outside London, we will be producing an online survey, using the same questions, which will be available in advance of the workshop. Look out for a specific email with relevant links and instructions.

We are also delighted to be joined at the event by Martin Townsend, Director of BREEAM, who will introduce the current consultation and be available for questions and feedback.
