atelier ten are Environmental and Building Services Engineers committed to the application of low-energy and sustainable design principles. Our core objectives are to meet the needs of our clients working with the natural physical laws to develop buildings with simple services that consume less energy and function economically. Barratt is Great Britain’s best-known housebuilder and a leading force in Urban Regeneration, breathing new life into towns and cities and establishing thriving new communities. Around 80% of our developments are on brownfield land. We are using our experience and resources to help address the challenges created by climate change and to minimise our environmental impact. Using the knowledge gained from our unique EcoSmart show village in Chorley, we are now building the Green House at the BRE in Watford - one of the lowest emission homes ever to be constructed in the UK. We recently won the first site of English Partnership's Carbon Challenge and as a result will build their first ever zero carbon community at Hanham Hall, near Bristol. Canary Wharf Group builds and leases Grade A office and retail space at its 97 acre estate in East London. Over the last twelve years it has built over 14 million square feet of office space, so that the estate now comprises 30 buildings and over 200 shops, bars and restaurants. It also has a conference and banqueting centre, medical and dental facilities, nurseries, two Docklands Light Railways stations, a Jubilee Line Underground station, car parks, approximately 20 acres of landscaped open spaces and three kilometres of waterfront promenades. NHBC, (the National House-Building Council), is the standard setting body and leading warranty and insurance provider for new and newly converted homes in the UK. Our role is to work with the house-building and wider construction industry to provide risk management services that raise the standards of new homes, and to provide consumer protection to new home buyers.
There are approximately 20,500 house builders and developers on NHBC's Register (known as registered builders or registered developers), who agree to comply with our Rules and Standards when building new homes.
More than 80% of new homes built in the UK each year are registered with NHBC and benefit from our 10-year warranty and insurance policy called 'Buildmark'.
