COURSE: Level 3 – Masterclass on the Circular Economy
January 29, 2019
9:30 am - 1:00 pm
LWARB, 69 Wilson Street
Learn how industry experts have adopted tools and strategies to successfully implement circular economy solutions. Receive advice and approaches on ‘how to’ apply these solutions practically in your business.
What to expect
Masterclasses are run with a ‘how to’ ethos so that they give you the tools you need to go back to the office and implement something new. They are informal but intensive learning sessions with a small group, where speakers give step by step guidance on how to achieve the goal using case studies as examples.
A transition to a more circular built environment will require both pioneering projects and systemic change. Implementing circular principles can help your organisation meet policy requirements, maximise resource efficiency, and create healthier and more sustainable places. It also represents a huge opportunity at business level to embed sustainability across your operations.
In line with the structure of UKGBC’s 2-year Circular Economy Programme, this masterclass will consist of two sessions:
1) applying circular economy principles in built environment projects and
2) embedding circular thinking into business models.
You will be introduced to some of the ‘easy wins’ to leverage the concept in your business operations. You will have the chance to discuss strategies and challenges with the speakers and wider group.
- David Cheshire, Sustainability Director, AECOM
- Second speaker to be announced soon
Who should attend
This would benefit you if you are a built environment professional looking to increase your knowledge of circular economy practice and would like to make implementation feasible or speed up adoption to create value for your organisation.
At the end of the session you will have a better understanding of the core principles of circularity and practical strategies for achieving circular outcomes.
You will also have the chance to hear about the work that is being done in the UKGBC Circular Economy Programme to support clients in specifying for circular outcomes.
