As part of its Circular Economy programme, UKGBC is launching a guidance document to assist developers and the supply chain in specifying and delivering buildings in line with circular economy principles.

The guidance is being developed by UKGBC members and other industry stakeholders, in response to an identified need to support clients with practical solutions towards a circular built environment. It will focus on the strategic project brief stage of development, with sections including:

  • Reuse
  • Dis-assembly
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Servitisation
  • The value proposition

The guidance is the initial output from the UKGBC Circular Economy programme, and has been made possible by our programme partner, The Crown Estate, and sponsors Clarion Housing Group, Cleveland Steel, ISG, HS2, Telford Homes, and TFT.

This event will provide an overview of the guidance, how we hope the industry will use it and our plans for updating it as more solutions are discovered. There will be a range of speakers and a panel discussion where we will unpick some of the barriers to a circular built environment and highlight successes to date.

  • 8:30 – 9:00 Registration and networking
  • 9:00 – 10:30 Presentations and panel discussion
  • 10:30 – 11:00 Networking

Attendees will have the opportunity to engage through live voting and questions to the panel as well as networking with around 100 industry professionals.
