WEBINAR: Ecological Footprinting of Construction
Kick-off event for UKGBC’s new project on ecological footprinting and embodied impacts of construction materials.
While we have developed a good understanding of embodied carbon, other embodied impacts are less well understood. This, however, does not mean they are less important but should be tackled with equal ambition in an integrated approach.
This upcoming project aims to increase understanding of the ecological footprint of construction materials in order to improve decision-making processes during the project design stages. Expanding the discussion of carbon, this project focuses on wider embodied impacts of the construction industry such as deforestation, land use, and ecosystems. This is of particular importance in regard to forthcoming recommendations of the Taskforce for Nature-related Financial Disclosure (TNFD).
This will be the kick-off event, raising awareness of this project and outlining how you could be involved. We will introduce the project’s general outline and engage in a discussion with the audience on the impact categories and scope of this work.
Who should attend
Built environment professionals working in the nexus of cities/built environment and ecological and social impacts.
Gain an understanding of ecological footprinting and embodied impacts in the built environment and learn how you can get involved in UKGBC’s new project.
This project is made possible by our Programme Partners BuroHappold, Hoare Lea, Hydrock and JLL.
