The UK Green Building Council (UKGBC) has today opened applications to apply for the Task Group which will help shape the content of the first deliverable of the Resilience and Nature Based Solutions programme: the measuring and reporting of physical risk.

The project aims to bring together the real estate and construction sector with the finance sector, in order to build consensus on how best to measure and report the physical risks from climate change to individual built assets.

Applications for the Task Groups are being sought from within the UKGBC membership including from real estate, finance, insurance, and scientific sectors. The individuals will cover a broad range of experience and knowledge in key climate resilience areas, for example:

  • Existing and emerging industry and academic research, evidence, and policy recommendations
  • Technical feasibility and implementation challenges of physical risk assessment.
  • Climate-related financial assessment and reporting  (using methods such as the TCFD recommendations or GRESB).

Diverse individuals from any discipline within the construction, property, finance, and insurance industries are encouraged to apply. Applicants are expected to have 5+ years’ experience in the industry, or specific knowledge within a relevant topic area.

The deadline for applications is Friday 6th August 2021.

Access the Task Group Call for Applications document below for more information on the objectives, time commitment, and how to apply.

The Task Group will be capped at a practical size, but additional consultation opportunities will be available throughout the project process. Please email Hannah.Jane@ukgbc.org to be added to the climate resilience interest group and alerted of future opportunities.
