Climate change: reducing the CO2 pollution in the air.
Resource use: reusing materials instead of one-time usage.
Socio-economic impact: overcoming the expert/professional bricklayer shortage in the construction industry. Facadeclick rapid-build brick walls require no extensive training, offering increased employment for less skilled people.
Facadeclick combines traditional facade brickwork with an innovative HDPE connector for fast and easy installation. This circular-economy brick wall innovation is as easy to construct as children’s building blocks. Needing no water, mortar or glue, Facadeclick is comparatively environmentally friendly.
CO2 pollution in the construction industry is extremely high. Facadeclick reduces this impact via its circular technology: the bricks and inserts can be easily disassembled and reused. Two holes in the bricks mean less material is used and there is a 20% energy saving in manufacturing the bricks. No extensive training or skillset is required to make a Facadeclick wall, increasing the available workforce.
Time is money. Facadeclick walls can be built twice as fast as conventional mortar-based walls; in contrast with the conventional 5-6m2/worker/day, Facadeclick assembly can achieve up to 12-15m2/worker/day. Further time and money is saved because Facadeclick assembly is weather independent; work can continue during rain, frost or hot weather conditions.
The ‘Colruyt Group’, a large supermarket chain in Belgium, has built a supermarket with Facadeclick. A brand new ‘Okay’ shop has also been built in Weelde, Belgium.
