Resource use – how to reuse raised flooring rather than it entering into landfill.
Raised Modular Flooring (RMF) facilitate raised floor reclamation, recycling and enabling of a more circular economy. RMF can help reduce the carbon foot print of construction raised access flooring potentially heading for landfill, or machinery shredding. Thereby helping clients improve construction BREEAM scoring, Ska ratings and embodied carbon data which is verified in an international EPD document.
All RMF Eco Range panels are of “Medium Grade” original manufactured specification, and to the MOB PF2 PS/Spu specification. Panels that have undergone independent testing confirmed that those made 15> years ago we able to outperform new panels made today.
All panels are offered back into the interior office market, installed as a system onto all steel pedestals and fully warranted by RMF (in the exact same way as we would warrant a new system) so there is no risk to the client to utilise the eco range over and above selecting new panels. The RMF Eco Range has been installed into CAT-B fit out projects for over 7 years and RMF has documented its story to date in this video, which gives the rationale behind the Eco Range and achievements to date.
Cost saving of using an RMF Eco range system vs a new raised flooring system is circa 20%. The carbon saving (demonstrated valid EPD for our product) is circa 50% saving vs a new system.
