Foreground is a new place-based initiative coming out of UKGBC’s Cities Programme. Focussed on strategically significant urban development projects, it brings the host city and their partners together with expert practitioners from across the built environment sector, in an intensive workshop process which informs and influences the sustainability aspirations of the scheme in question.
It draws on UKGBC’s long track record of convening power and facilitation expertise to collectively tackle common barriers to delivering thriving, sustainable places. Outputs from the process are geared specifically to the needs and requirements of our host city and their partners and are designed to support the business case for high quality, sustainable development.
This is a programme primarily funded by EIT ClimateKIC, but we are also grateful to a number of other supporting organisations (below). We have confirmed our host city partners for three pilots in Autumn 2019, and will be bringing Foreground to Manchester, London and the South West. Further details will be released in due course.
